JOANNE KIMBERLY

AUTHOR

I spent the first eighteen years of my life in the small town of Hollis, NH. I received my BA in Theatre, English and Secondary Education from the University of New Hampshire. After graduating I married my husband, David, and we continue to share a fulfilling life in our call to ministry together. We have been blessed by our three precious children, their spouses, and three grandchildren! My heart abounds with delight and love whenever I am with them. I marvel that the Lord could love them more than I do, and yet I know He does.

I taught music and reading at the elementary level, and high school English and Theatre. I also served as drama director for numerous middle school, junior high, and high school theatre productions. In addition, I have written and directed Christmas pageants, children’s theatre productions, youth musicals, adult Christian musicals, skits, and puppet shows at the various churches my husband and I have been called to serve.

I have satisfied master-level reading endorsement requirements and received Reading Endorsement Certification.

As a reading specialist at a local elementary school, I was able to significantly raise reading skills, vocabulary, and comprehension as much as three grade levels. Hopefully, this book will help bring similar results for your children. One reading strategy I found especially effective was the use of rhyme to enhance word recognition and increase a child's basic vocabulary. Because this Christmas story is composed in poetry, it could very well have this same impact when read to your child.

As your child follows Gingerboy on his quest to find his Papa, it is my great hope that each one, like Gingerboy, will discover just how much our Heavenly Father loves us all.

I would love to hear from you, so feel free to email me here at joannehappyplacebooks.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
